I first dipped my toe into yoga when I was around 16 (17 years ago) but it never stuck. I’m physically disabled so not only could I ‘not do’ lots (most) of the poses, but I’d push myself through an hour long session, overdo it & end up out of action for the week. Negative association was the only thing activated, I don’t know about my core.
I can’t even remember how I started following Hannah on IG but Yoga Happy found me with the 42 day Yoga Reset. A friend & I challenged ourselves to motivate & encourage each other through it – New Year, bendier us! Without Hannah & Yoga Happy I wouldn’t have thought that I *could* do just 10-15 minutes a day & it *would be* enough, but Yoga Happy is so accessible, Hannah so reassuring & informative (who knew you could modify it?!) it made me think differently.
During 2020 I was shielding – anxious & bored, I needed something to occupy my time & burn my energy. I soon found myself able to do poses I couldn’t do before & was shocked to find out yoga really did help my mindset too.
I now find myself feeling like I actually need to move, as much for my mind as my body, on a good or a bad day, it helps. Yoga Happy has become a (mostly) daily must for me & has improved my wellbeing in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
