Frequently Asked Questions about the Yoga Happy App

Getting Started

Is Yoga Happy right for me?

If you’ve been looking for a way to move your body, feel stronger and find a bit of stillness in the middle of a busy life, then yes, this is for you. Yoga Happy was built for real people with real schedules, not for those who already have a perfect practice and plenty of time. Whether you’re completely new to yoga or you’ve been practising for years and want something that genuinely grows with you, there’s a place for you here.

Do I need any experience?

None at all. There are classes specifically designed for complete beginners and Hannah provides modifications throughout so you can adapt any practice to suit your body and your level. Many of our most dedicated members started with no yoga experience whatsoever. The app is designed so that wherever you begin, you never outgrow it.

Is the app suitable if I'm pregnant or postnatal? Do you do classes for perimenopause / menopause?

Yes. There is a dedicated prenatal and postnatal section in the app with classes designed specifically for those stages. As always, we recommend checking with your GP or midwife before starting any new exercise programme during pregnancy or in the early postnatal period.

And yes we have a whole menopause section for classes that are designed to support and strengthen you whether you are peri or post menopause.

What do I need to get started?

Just a mat and a bit of space, that’s genuinely it. If you want to build out your props over time, a couple of yoga blocks and a strap can be useful, but you absolutely don’t need them to begin. A cushion works in place of a block and a dressing gown belt does the job of a strap perfectly well.

The free trial and subscription

How does the free trial work?

You get fourteen days completely free with full access to everything in the app. No limitations, no watered-down experience. Just the whole app, yours to explore. After fourteen days your subscription begins automatically, so if you decide it’s not for you, just cancel before the trial ends and you won’t be charged anything.

What does a subscription cost?

We have three options so you can choose what works for you. Monthly, six-monthly and annual plans are available, with the longer plans offering better value. Current pricing is on the app page.

Whichever plan you choose, you can cancel at any time.

Can I really cancel anytime?

Yes, genuinely. No hoops to jump through, no questions asked. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you cancel directly through your device settings. If you subscribed through the web, you can manage your subscription by logging into your account here and selecting Manage Account. Full instructions are at the bottom of this page.

What makes Yoga Happy different from other yoga apps?

Most yoga apps are content libraries. You scroll through, try to figure out what you need, and hope for the best. Yoga Happy is built differently. There’s a real teacher behind every class, Hannah Barrett and a team of expert educators who show up consistently and guide you through your practice rather than just providing content for you to find on your own.

The app is also designed specifically around the reality of a busy life, short classes when you need them, longer classes when you have more time, a smart search that finds the right class for how you’re feeling today, and features that help the habit actually stick rather than just hoping you’ll remember to come back.

Inside the app

What kinds of classes are on the app?

Over 700 classes across just about every style and need you can think of. Yoga flows, strength and power, flexibility, yin, breathwork, meditation, sound baths, barre, pilates, HIIT-style yoga, mobility, prenatal, postnatal, menopause, philosophy, restorative, handstands, backbends and more. Classes range from five minutes to ninety minutes so there is genuinely always something that fits whatever time you have today.

I never know what I need. How do I choose?

You don’t have to. The Smart Search feature lets you type how you’re feeling and the app finds the right class for you. Stressed? Exhausted? Stiff from sitting at a desk all day? Just tell us and we’ll take it from there. There’s also Today’s Class, which is already chosen for you when you open the app, and the Mini Reset for the days when you have less than ten minutes and nothing left to give. You can also search using time, teacher, class type and body part filters!

What are challenges and how do they work?

Challenges are one of the most popular features in the app and for good reason. Each challenge is a structured series of classes built around a theme, whether that’s building strength, establishing a morning routine, calming the nervous system or something else entirely. There are over 70 challenges in the app and new ones drop every month. They’re designed to take the decision-making out of your hands and give you a clear path to follow, which is one of the best ways to actually build a consistent practice.

What are Glimmers?

Glimmers are the little milestones that mark your progress as you practise. You earn them for things like completing a challenge, reaching a streak or hitting a certain number of sessions. They’re not about performance or pushing yourself to achieve. They’re simply a way of recognising that every time you come back to your mat, it counts. The name comes from the idea of small moments of joy and the research behind why noticing them matters.

Can I personalise the app to make it feel like mine?

Yes, in quite a few ways actually. You can save classes to your Favourites so your most loved sessions are always easy to find. You can use the Flow Creator to build your own sequences from scratch, which is particularly useful if you want to practise in a specific way or focus on a particular area. You can also design your own challenges, so if you want to set yourself a thirty-day goal around a specific theme or style, you can build that yourself rather than waiting for one to be created for you. And there’s a gratitude journal built directly into the app, a private space to reflect, note how you’re feeling and track not just your physical practice but how it’s affecting everything else. The whole app is designed to shape itself around your life rather than the other way around.

Is there a community?

Yes and it’s genuinely one of the things members love most. There’s a community feed inside the app where real members share their practice, ask questions and support each other. Hannah and the team show up there too, so you can ask questions about your practice directly and get a real answer. You can also upload videos and photos for feedback. It’s not a content library you use alone. It feels like a home.

Can I watch on my TV?

Yes. The app is available on both iOS and Android, and also as a web app so you can access it on your laptop or desktop. You can cast or use AirPlay to watch on your television. You can also download classes in advance to watch offline, which is useful if you’re travelling or know you’ll be without signal.

I've been practising for years. Will the app still challenge me?

Very much so. There are advanced flows, challenging sequences, arm balances, handstand progressions and plenty to keep an experienced practitioner growing. The app is also designed so that you can go deeper over time, with challenges and classes that build on each other and content that is added every single month. Many of our members have been with the app since the beginning and tell us they still find new things to explore.
